Delete your Ourli account
This page explains how to delete your account for the app Ourli by HBL Software (Jonas Habel) and which data is deleted or kept.
Option 1: In the app
- Open Ourli and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account & data at the bottom.
- Type DELETE to confirm and tap Delete.
Your account is deleted immediately.
Option 2: By email (without the app)
If you no longer have the app installed, send an email from the email address of your Ourli account to:
We delete your account within 7 days and confirm the deletion by email. If the request is not sent from the account's email address, we may ask you to confirm that you own the account.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in data (email address, password hash, Google sign-in link)
- Your profile (display name, avatar color)
- Your encryption keys (public key and the recovery-key-encrypted private key)
- Your household memberships
- Households in which you are the only member, together with all of their content (pantry, shopping lists, tasks, calendar events)
- The local copy of your data on the device (when deleting in the app)
What is kept
- Shared households: If a household you own has other members, it is transferred to the longest-standing member. Content you created in shared households stays available to the other members in end-to-end encrypted form and is no longer linked to your account.
- Subscription records: Google Play purchase records (purchase token, product, status, expiry date) are kept as long as required for billing and legal obligations. After deletion they are no longer linked to your account.
- Backups: Data in server backups is removed when those backups are overwritten in the regular backup cycle, at the latest after 30 days.
Important: Deleting your account does not cancel an Ourli Family subscription. Please cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
